Round Down US is a nationwide campaign to save resources by rounding down cash transactions to the nearest quarter. If the bill is $12.34, the merchant rounds down to $12.25 to make change. A customer paying $13.00 in cash receives three quarters in change. This is easier than counting out two quarters a dime, a nickel and penny.
Rounding-down saves the merchant the cost of handling small change. It saves the customer a few cents and the hassles of small change. Above all, rounding down saves the resources needed to produces billions of pennies, dimes and nickels.
